A Message from Luanne Fisher, President and CEO of Liberty Lutheran, about the outstanding results of our recent PeopleMetrics Survey:
Thanks to all who participated in the 2011 PeopleMetrics Employee Engagement Survey! This is our third engagement survey with previous ones taking place in 2006 and 2008. After reviewing the results, it is clear that we have reasons to celebrate! PeopleMetrics labeled our scored as “Best in Class!” Let me share with you some of the overall results we received. The first outstanding outcome was the number of us who participated. This year the overall participation level was 76% compared to 72% in 2008 and 50% in 2006! What a great response!
“Employee Engagement” is the measurement of emotional and intellectual commitment our employees have with their family of service and Liberty. In the 2011 survey, 72% of all employees were engaged, a dramatic increase of 15% from the 2008 results, and an amazing 24% increase since 2006! Below are results of the four questions asked in the survey that defines engagement:
• Retention: 77%, an increase of 13% since 2008. The question that was used to measure retention was “It would take a lot to get me to leave (Liberty/Affiliate).”
• Effort: 85%, an increase of 9% since 2008. The question that was used to measure effort was “Being part of (Liberty/Affiliate) motivates me to go beyond what is expected.”
• Advocacy: 89%, an increase of 7% since 2008. The question asked for advocacy was “I recommend (Liberty/Affiliate) as a great place to work.”
• Passion: 82%, an increase of 6% since 2008. The question asked to measure passion was “I love working for (Liberty/Affiliate).”
The increases in this year’s results were astounding. We exceeded all benchmarks and have established a new standard of engagement. Another measure that was calculated was the number of employees that are “fully engaged”. Being fully engaged means that for the 4 questions listed above, you scored them ALL a 5 out of 5. Once again, this year’s results broke all records with 41% of all employees being fully engaged, an increase of 20% since 2008 and 26% over the industry benchmark!
In summary, congratulations to all of Liberty again! The results are a fantastic accomplishment and a credit to every ones combined efforts, strong team work, leadership, and the unique gifts and talents each of you share. I thank all of you for your diligence, hard work, and contributions with those we serve and with each other.
