Rhythmic beats, laughter and applause traversed the 3rd floor of Liberty Lutheran’s Whitemarsh office building. Employees cheered and danced, while band members happily played their instruments. The lunchtime fiesta was courtesy of Alberto Pagan Ramirez, a musician and teacher from Instituto Puertorriqueno de Musica, or the Puerto Rican Institute of Music, in Philadelphia. He was accompanied by some of his students who entertained with traditional Puerto Rican music.
The music students taught Liberty employees a few basic dance moves, while Alberto educated the crowd about Puerto Rican culture and tradition.
Christopher Ridenhour, Liberty’s Director of Employee Engagement Training, invited Alberto and his students to the Liberty offices, as part of the organization’s “Traditions” training. The all-day workshop is offered throughout the year to Liberty staff members to educate them about Liberty’s culture of strong employee engagement, positivity and excellent customer service.
“I thought this might be a really interesting way to bring diversity and variety to the Traditions program,” Christopher explained.
Thank you, Alberto Pagan Ramirez and students from Instituto Puertorriqueno de Musica for sharing your talent and traditions with Liberty Lutheran!
