Katrina Wise, a leader in the senior services industry and executive director of Liberty’s senior living community Paul’s Run, has earned the Distinguished Service Award for Leader of the Year conferred by LeadingAge PA, an organization that represents over 370 not-for-profit providers of senior housing, healthcare and community services across Pennsylvania.
LeadingAge PA required a set of exacting standards for its Leader of the Year Award, including a distinguished record of service, dedication and foresight. Katrina, who has worked in the senior services industry for the past 30 years, was nominated by a group of public and industry leaders, including Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Mike Stack.
“Not only is she (Katrina) very knowledgeable about seniors in our Commonwealth, she has a passion for helping them. As a leader in our state on the treatment of seniors, I have personally witnessed Katrina’s sense of responsibility toward bettering the lives of seniors in Pennsylvania through legislation and through her role at Paul’s Run,” stated the Lieutenant Governor in his letter of reference for Katrina.
Katrina has served in various leadership roles for the Liberty Lutheran family of services. Currently, she spearheads Liberty’s Paul’s Run senior living community, where she leads a staff of 400 who provide services for nearly 450 seniors across the entire continuum of care.
During Katrina’s tenure at Paul’s Run, the community has undergone a complete transformation and has earned multiple distinctions, including recognition for being rated as one of the best nursing homes by US News and World Report, and recognition for being rated a Top 100 Work Place in Greater Philadelphia for two consecutive years by the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“Driven by Katrina’s care and compassion for seniors, as well as her trust in and appreciation for staff, she has played a significant role in framing a rebirth in organizational culture that inspires staff and residents to derive more purpose, meaning and joy from their daily interactions,” says Liberty’s Chief Operations Officer Joan Myers.
