Members of Lutheran Children and Family Service’s Olney Senior Program celebrated the 100th birthday of Onofre “Carlos” Escorpizo. Carlos is a very active and well-liked member, who came to the Program in 1999, at the age of 87, as a volunteer.

He volunteered as a greeter and a server until just three months ago, when he decided to relax and enjoy the program simply as a member. “I like this place very much,” he said. “This is the happiest place I have ever been.”

Carlos’s daughter surprised him at the party by bringing his three great-grandchildren to celebrate.

  1. Hello, I am an old friend of Manong Escorpizo. I lost touch with him many years ago and see he had a 100 birthday! I would love to come by and pay him a visit. Is he still a member at your center? Please let me know.
