In 1994, when Helene’s mother Wilhelmina Butler was discharged from hospital and in need of additional help, Helene knew exactly what to do.
“Mother always told me, ‘If I get sick, I want to go to Artman,’” she says.
Helene has known Artman, a Liberty Lutheran senior living community in Ambler, for most of her life. As a little girl, she and her parents attended Ascension Lutheran Church, and every year they looked forward to the picnics held on Artman’s front lawn. In many ways, it was no surprise to Helene that her ties to the Lutheran community would ultimately connect her to meeting and marrying the love of her life.
